Wike Has Crossed The Red Line, He Should Be Sacked From PDP - Bode George

George Urges PDP Leadership to Act Against Wike

Well, folks, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is in the midst of a serious internal conflict, and it's heating up. Chief Bode George, a former Deputy National Chairman of the party, has fired a warning shot across the bow of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike. George is demanding Wike's expulsion from the party, claiming that his actions have gone too far. Specifically, Wike has been accused of revoking the land allocated to the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, a move George sees as a betrayal of the party's principles and values.

In an exclusive interview with Arise News on Friday, George minced no words. He accused Wike of crossing what he termed "the red line" by allegedly taking such a drastic measure against the party. "I’m saying he has crossed the red line," George emphasized. "Once you cross the red line, what are you looking for? So what is he still doing there then?"

George didn't stop there. He compared Wike's actions to a son seizing control of his father's house, a metaphorical way of saying that Wike is overstepping his bounds. "If you have gone to take over your father’s house, why do you think he is still a man? Why do you think he is still a member of the party?" George questioned, driving home the point that Wike's behavior is unacceptable.

  • George urged the PDP leadership to take decisive action, warning that silence in this matter would reflect poorly on the party. "No, no, no. The party, you know, these things are just breaking. The party has to meet. We have to meet the leaders, the members of the board of trustees. We own the party in trust for the members of the party," he explained. George made it clear that Wike's actions amount to an open declaration of war against the PDP, and the party's elders have a responsibility to respond.

Allegations of Bias in the PDP Disciplinary Committee

In the same interview, George also raised concerns about the fairness of the PDP National Disciplinary Committee. He accused the committee, led by Chief Tom Ikimi, of being biased in favor of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. This, George revealed, was one of the reasons he declined to join the committee.

George elaborated on his decision, saying, "The National Disciplinary Committee, headed by former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi, yes, is on Atiku Abubakar’s side. The secretary of that same committee, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, is on Atiku’s side, and they said I should come and be a member. I said, no, I cannot." He explained that his refusal stemmed from both his professional relationship with Ikimi and the committee's structure, which he found problematic. "First of all, Tom met me at this party. I cannot serve under him. Then secondly, the way the thing was structured was warped. So where do you start?" George questioned.

Supreme Court Ruling Adds Complexity to the Crisis

Adding another layer to the PDP saga is the recent Supreme Court ruling that reinstated Samuel Anyanwu as the party's National Secretary. Speaking on the matter, George acknowledged the court's decision and stated that the party must accept it and move forward. "Now I’m told that there was a judgment this morning by the Supreme Court again that I am who should come back. We have no qualms. We have nothing to do. We can’t appeal to anybody anymore now. We should go back," he remarked.

George highlighted the importance of the upcoming PDP national convention, which is scheduled to take place between October and November. He believes that this event will be pivotal in shaping the party's future and addressing the ongoing crisis. With tensions running high and key figures like Wike and Anyanwu making waves, the convention could be the battleground where the PDP's direction is ultimately decided.
